Remene vs. Claude
Claude is a general AI assistant. Remene is built for one thing: helping you understand your own MRI before your appointment.
Where Claude helps
Claude is good at explaining a medical term, answering a general question or helping you word what you want to ask. It answers from what you type and the files you attach.
Built to read MRI files
The images from an MRI come as DICOM files, the standard format for medical images. Remene was built from the ground up to read them the way the standard describes, so you can upload the folder from your CD as it is.
A growing set of automated tests checks how Remene reads and explains your images. We keep adding to it, and we improve Remene all the time.
Your name stays out of the AI
Because Remene prepares your MRI files itself, it also removes your name and other personal details from them before any image is sent to the AI.
Our data protection page explains every step, and its limits.
Your whole MRI, not a few screenshots
A typical MRI has from 400 to more than 1,000 images. They show the same part of your body from several directions (from the side, from the front and from above) and with different settings: some make fluid stand out, some hide the fat so swelling is easier to see, some show soft tissue best, and some scans add images taken after a contrast injection.
Remene first looks at an overview of every set of images in your scan. When it needs to look closer, or at another part of the scan, it asks for more images by itself. Claude sees only the images you choose to give it, usually a few screenshots.
What can get in the way with Claude
Claude is made for everyday work and questions, not for hundreds of medical images at once.
- Its plans have limits. Free and standard plans are not made for hundreds of images, and one MRI can quickly use up your session or weekly limits, even more so when Claude takes time to think.
- It may say no. Claude follows its own rules for health questions and can refuse to look at medical images or to answer questions about them.
Use them together
You can connect your Remene account to Claude through MCP, the standard way AI assistants connect to other apps. Once you allow the connection, Claude can read the studies, analyses, report explanations, second opinions and saved questions in your Remene account, add a report you paste into the chat or give you a link to add a new MRI study, without being able to change anything else, and you can keep exploring them with your own Claude subscription.
The connection guide shows the steps for Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants.
What you take to your doctor
Remene prepares one document for your appointment, with your report explained, the analysis with its images and your questions.
Remene helps you understand your MRI. The AI second opinion is optional, not reviewed by a doctor, and does not replace a consultation.
