AI assistants
Connect Remene to your AI assistant
You can connect your own AI assistant, such as ChatGPT, Claude or another, to your Remene account. Once you approve it, your assistant can read your MRI results, talk them through with you and add new studies and reports for you.
What MCP is
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant connect to other apps. Remene has an MCP server, so your assistant can read your results straight from your account instead of from screenshots or text you copy in.
What your assistant can read and add
Once you allow it, your assistant can read, from your own account only:
- your MRI studies and their images
- the analyses of your images, with the regions they point to
- your reports as you added them, and their explanations
- the second opinions you asked for, with what you told the AI when you asked for them
- your conversations with Remene’s AI about each study
- the questions you saved for your doctor
- your account details, your signed-in sessions and the assistants you connected
It reads them in your account’s language. It can also add a new MRI study or a report to your account, but it cannot change or delete anything else.
Adding a study or a report
Assistants that can read files on your computer, such as Claude Code or Cursor, can upload the DICOM files of an MRI, and a report you have as a PDF, a photo or text, straight to your account.
Assistants in a chat window, such as ChatGPT or Claude, give you a link to Remene’s upload page instead, where you add the files yourself. A report you paste into the chat can be added as text.
How it works
- You add Remene’s address to your assistant.
- Your assistant opens Remene in your browser, and you sign in.
- Remene shows you what the assistant is asking for, and you choose whether to allow it.
- From then on, your assistant can read your results whenever you ask it about them.
Your password stays with Remene: your assistant never sees it.
Remene’s address
This is the address you add to your assistant:
https://remene.si/mcp
Connect Claude
Claude can add Remene as a custom connector on its free and paid plans. The free plan allows one custom connector.
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
- Select + and then Add custom connector.
- Paste Remene’s address and select Add, then sign in to Remene and allow the connection.
- In a chat, turn Remene on from + and then Connectors, and ask Claude about your MRI.
If Claude’s menus look different, Claude’s guide to custom connectors has the latest steps.
Connect ChatGPT
ChatGPT connects to MCP servers in developer mode, which only some plans offer (in September 2026: Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education).
- In ChatGPT’s settings, open Apps and turn on Developer mode (under Advanced settings).
- Create a new app named Remene and paste Remene’s address as its MCP server.
- Sign in to Remene when asked and allow the connection, then choose Remene when you start a chat.
OpenAI changes these settings often, so if they look different, OpenAI’s guide to developer mode has the latest steps for your plan.
Other assistants
Cursor, Claude Code and other apps that support MCP connect the same way: add a remote MCP server with Remene’s address, then sign in when they ask.
In Claude Code, for example, run this command, then type /mcp and sign in to Remene:
claude mcp add --transport http remene https://remene.si/mcp
Claude Code’s guide to MCP has the latest details.
Disconnect
You can remove Remene from your assistant’s connectors at any time. In Claude Code, choose Clear authentication in the /mcp menu.
To also end the access you gave it in Remene, open My account, then Security, and select Disconnect next to the assistant under Connected AI assistants.
Your assistant’s answers about your results are its own: Remene does not check them, and no doctor reviews them.
Remene helps you understand your MRI. The AI second opinion is optional, not reviewed by a doctor, and does not replace a consultation.
Steps checked in September 2026, and ChatGPT and Claude may rename their menus. ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI, Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic, and Cursor is a trademark of Anysphere.
